Lombard Garden Club College Scholarship

The Lombard Garden Club is offering scholarships up to $2,000 each to Lombard residents who are high school seniors, home-schooled students or students currently enrolled in a college program. Criteria include being a Lombard resident who is pursuing a career related to horticulture, ecology, landscape design, agriculture, environmental conservation, botany, forestry or related fields. The student needs to have a ‘C’ average or better, verified by a transcript. Participation in extracurricular activities is encouraged. The applicant needs to provide two letters of recommendation from teachers or school counselors. The student is also requested to include a statement of career goals.

Lombard Garden Club Scholarship (1 of 3)

This year’s recipient of a $2,000 Lombard Garden Club Scholarship is Caitlin Rossi.

Caitlin will always cherish the connections she built with classmates, teammates, and teachers throughout high school. As a two-year captain of East’s badminton program and an active member of the FFA chapter, she found leadership opportunities that created lasting memories and friendships. One of the most meaningful parts of her journey was empowering younger students to grow and discover their own passions.

Caitlin will attend Augustana College and major in Environmental Management and Forestry.

This year’s recipient of a $2,000 Lombard Garden Club Scholarship is Lennea Condon.

Lennea will always cherish her time on the varsity dance team. The memories and friendships she made will stay with her for life. Being a teammate and co-captain were some of her favorite moments from high school, and making IHSA state taught her the importance of hard work—a lesson she will carry with her to college.

Lennea will attend University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and major in ACES (Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences)

This year’s recipient of a $2,000 Lombard Garden Club Scholarship is Akshay Talreja.

Ashkay will always remember his time as a two-year Drum Major of the Glenbard East Marching Rams, where he took on the responsibility of leading the band during marching season. The leadership and teamwork he experienced during this time will continue to influence him as he moves forward. The connections he made with his bandmates and the pride he felt leading them will stay with him for the rest of his life.

Akshay will attend University of Illinois - Chicago and major in Environmental Sciences and Engineering.
