The Lombard Garden Club promotes an interest in gardening and the beautification of the landscape in our community. We are a not-for-profit, all volunteer organization.
The club provides informative programs on gardening-related topics at each of the monthly meetings. This gives members the opportunity to learn more about their favorite topics and hear about new ones. The public is welcome to attend meetings which are held on the fourth Friday of each month unless otherwise announced.
There is an evening horticulture study group that meets in members homes and visits locations of interest to gardeners. This group appeals to members who are unable to attend our large day-time meetings.
Lombard Garden Club is active in the community. In partnership with local organizations it contributes to the beauty of Lombard through donations and volunteer service. As members of the Garden Clubs of Illinois and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. it participates in programs that address current national gardening issues such as the decline of the Monarch butterfly population and the awareness of the value of pollinators.
Founded in 1926 as the Lombard Flower and Garden Club, the Lombard Garden Club continues a long history of with gardening in Lombard.
The club is widely known for its Annual Lilac Sale. Each year before Mother’s Day, the club makes a large selection of cultivars available to the general public. This year the sale will feature 17 different cultivars.
